700 block, Burgundy Street

A Creole townhouse on a quiet residential block, three streets back from the noise and close enough to walk everywhere worth walking. The facade is original: pink stucco over brick, full-height shuttered openings, and a gallery running the width of the second floor.

Inside, the plan is intact rather than opened up. Fourteen-foot ceilings on the main floor, heart pine throughout, and three fireplaces with their original mantels. The kitchen was rebuilt in 2019 and reads as new work that knows what it is standing next to.

The courtyard is walled, paved in reclaimed brick, and gets sun until mid-afternoon. Off-street parking for one car behind the gate, which on this block is worth stating plainly.
